New event!!! - HCPT 10k Fun run & John White Memorial Walk

We have planned a 10k fun run & sponsored walk on 7 September 2008 at Mount Saint Bernard's Abbey in Leicestershire. The 10k roune goes through the grounds of the Abbey and will finish with a barbecue for everyone!
 
WHY TAKE PART
Whether you walk with family, friends or a gang from work, the HCPT John White Memorial Walk will be a great day out, raising money to pay for a new mini-bus for HCPT Hosanna House. By taking part, you will make a difference to the lives of adults and children with disabilities so ENTER TODAY.  
HOW TO ENTER
Complete the details on the booking form and send it back to HQ. There is an entry fee of £10 per adult. Accompanied children under 12 are free.  
SPONSORSHIP IS THE KEY!
The purpose of the day is to raise enough money to buy a new mini-bus for Hosanna House. The cost of a new mini-bus is approximately £20,000. Mini-buses are essential at Hosanna House as they give the groups who stay there flexibility and independence.  
WHAT YOU GET
All entrants will receive an entry pack in advance which will include sponsor forms and fundraising details. On the day, each entrant will receive a goody bag which will include a t-shirt, a route guide showing check points and other items. (T shirt sizes: ADULT S, M, L, XL, XXL. CHILD: 26", 28", 30", 32", 34")  
ON THE DAY
Please arrive at the Abbey from 10am in order to register. Last registration will be at 12.30pm. Before starting, you will be asked to give the total amount for which you expect to be sponsored. At the end of the walk, there will be a BBQ and a chance for you to have your own picnic.  
ROUTE
The walk will start and finish at Mount St. Bernard’s Abbey and the whole route will be clearly sign posted.

Following on from our two very successful walks of 2006, "Walk 2008" has been organised with a difference. This time you have a choice of dates and a choice of distances something to suit all! All walks will be around Lourdes over two days and the routes will be different than our 2006 walks.

What is Walk 2008? Walk 2008 is a fundraising event in aid of HCPT - The Pilgrimage Trust. The walks will take place around Lourdes as part of the celebrations to mark the 150th Anniversary of the Apparitions.  
 
All monies raised will be allocated to your Group's Child Sponsorship account or Hosanna House fare account.  
 
Walk 2008 - Costs You make and pay for your own travel arrangements to/from Lourdes. (So you can choose which airport you fly to and from). Have a look at this page for ideas on getting to Lourdes
Once you have made your own travel arrangements you then only have to pay HCPT £75 which will cover 4 nights accommodation at Hosanna House, all meals, our support costs, Insurance and a walk polo shirt.
There is no minimum sponsorship and everyone is welcome to take part. However we would like to challenge every walker to try and raise at least £575 which would cover the cost of sending one child to Lourdes.

Walk 2008 - You choose the dates which suit you! The walks will be held over two days, dates are as follows
8th -12th February 2008:
•Arrive Friday 8th
•Walk Sat / Sun 9th / 10th
•11th Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes
•150th Anniversary of the First Apparition
•Depart Tue 12th
 
 
20th - 24th March 2008 (Easter):
• Arrive Thursday 20th March
• Walk Fri / Sat 21st / 22nd
• 23rd Easter Sunday (join your HCPT group if staying for the Pilgrimage)
• Depart Monday 24th
 
 
5th - 9th December 2008:
• Arrive Friday 5th
• Walk Sat / Sun 6th / 7th
• 8th (Feast of the Immaculate Conception)
• Depart Tue 9th
 
 
Walk 2008 - Route: All walks will be on country roads. There will be no off road walking.
Day One:
Coach transfer to your start point.
09:00 25k walk starts at Bazet
12:30 15k walk starts at Ibos
12:00 10k walk starts at Ossun

All walks on Day one will finish at Hosanna House;  
 
Day Two:
09:00 25k walk starts from Hosanna House
10:30 15k walk starts near Peyrouse (Coach transfer)
12:00 10k walk starts at Rieulhes(Coach transfer)
All walks on Day two will finish at St. Michael's gate.  
 
There will be a Support/Route Crew on the road each day giving help with directions. There will also be signs to guide you along the route.  
 
Each vehicle will carry a supply of drinks and snacks for the Walkers.  
 
Walk 2008 - Registration: Places on walks will be allocated on a first come first served basis on receipt of a completed application form and a £25 deposit. There will only be 100 places on each walk. So as not to be disappointed apply early.
