The Board employs staff in the UK and France to manage the day-to-day operations of HCPT. All staff report to the Chief Executive, who in turn reports to the Board. UK staff, based in Rugby, work in departments including Finance, Fundraising and Communications, Human Resources and Administration, and Pilgrimage.
Tricia Macfarlane
Chief Executive
Tricia joined HCPT from Impact Funding Partners, a Scottish fund management charity, where she was Chief Executive. She has held leadership roles in Scottish and UK national charities for 16 years. Tricia is a Clore Social Leadership Fellow, strategic advisor to local and national government departments and is an experienced trustee of national and grassroots organisations.
Kerry Arands
Fundraising Events Coordinator
Kerry joined the Metropolitan Police Cadet Corps straight from school in 1986 and began working with Merseyside Police in 1988, eventually retiring in 2018.
In 2009, Kerry started traveling with an HCPT Summer group and has participated every year possible since. In 2019, Kerry began traveling with the Easter pilgrimage. Kerry's main responsibilities include organizing fundraising and promotional events in the Greater London area.
Rhona Baker
Interim Head of Finance
Rhona joined HCPT in 2024. She graduated with a degree in Genetics and subsequently qualified as a management accountant. She has spent many years working in roles in the Finance departments of various organisations.
Jennie Black
Pilgrimage Organiser
Jennie joined HCPT in 2012 with a background in training and events management. She has a degree in Business Information Technology with French, and as part of her university degree lived in the south of France for over a year.
Jennie works in the Pilgrimage Department and helps to organise the Easter and Summer Pilgrimages.
Phil Burns
Head of Pilgrimages
Phil joined HQ in November 1997, having travelled to Lourdes as a helper for five years before that.
Phil is responsible for planning and managing all the operational details for the Easter and Summer pilgrimages, which includes planning and booking flights, trains, coaches, hotels, all the excursions, chapels and large mass venues in Lourdes. He is also responsible for the administration of Risk Assessment and Management and Safeguarding, is the Lead Countersignatory for DBS and PVG certificates, and for IT support at HQ.
Katie Caldwell
Head of Care
Katie joined HCPT staff in 2024 and holds a BSc in Adult Nursing and a postgraduate qualification in Specialist Practice. With a rich background in nursing, Katie has travelled as a nurse at Easter in the Scottish region, providing compassionate care and support to our volunteers and beneficiaries.
Andy Clare
Head of Youth and Education
Andy joined the HCPT staff in 2018 after a 20 year career in Catholic education. He first travelled to Lourdes at Easter in the mid 1980s, then to Hosanna House from 1989-2014.
From 2000 Andy travelled with HCPT as part of the Central Support Team at Easter, initially working up at Hosanna House and then from 2004 with the music and liturgy production teams, including leading the liturgies in the 60th jubilee year of 2016.
In 2011 Andy became an HCPT Trustee and sat on the Spiritual Development and the Trust Development Committees, and then in 2017 took on the role as Pilgrimage Director for the Trust.
He now chairs the Spiritual Development Committee.
Bina Fatania
Accounts Manager
Bina joined HCPT in 2022, having worked for nine years in various finance roles across different sectors and industries.
Bina is the main point of contact for group leaders for Easter and Summer travel, for the processing of gifts left in Wills, and has other finance duties.
Elaine Furmage
Communications Manager
Elaine joined the HCPT staff in 2022. She previously worked in Catholic Education as a primary school teacher for eight years. Elaine began volunteering with HCPT in 2009 as a helper for a Summer group, and has annually travelled to Hosanna House since.
Her responsibilities include communications via our website, social media channels and newsletters. She will maintain communication with HCPT volunteers, and individuals outside of HCPT, to raise awareness of the chance to join us on pilgrimage to Lourdes.
George Halstead
Accounts Assistant
George joined HCPT in 2019 following graduating from Durham University with a Philosophy degree.
Previously working for the Pilgrimage Department, George now works in the Finance team.
Mariia Manilova
Admin and HR Office Assistant
Mariia joined the HQ team in 2019. Originally from Russia, she moved to France - where she completed a degree in Economic and Social Administration at Lyon University.
Mariia is responsible for Group Leader and Deputy Group Leader applications, as well as helping to process helper data. She also assists other staff in the run up to the Easter and Summer pilgrimages.
Luhele Matiwaza
Admin and HR Assistant
Luhele has a degree in Human Resource Management and an Hons degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology, both of which she obtained at the University of South Africa.
She has been involved largely in administration of psychometrics, using psychological assessments to improve talent management processes, from recruitment, selection, leadership development, identifying high potential, performance management as well as succession planning.
She joined HCPT in 2024 and her role is to support the Admin and HR team.
Yvonne McKenna
Pilgrimage Organiser
Yvonne joined HCPT in 2012. Before that she worked in sales and customer service roles but has a background in childcare and is a trained Montessori teacher. Yvonne lived in Bordeaux, France, for nearly two years while studying and worked for a camping holiday company there.
She works in the Pilgrimage Department where she helps to organise the Easter and Summer pilgrimages.
George Overton
Head of Fundraising and Communications
George has spent his career in the voluntary sector, fundraising for charities such as Home-Start, Methodist Homes for the Aged and the Motor Neurone Disease Association. He joined HCPT in 2012 and took a break from the role between 2019 and 2022.
George leads HCPT's fundraising as well as its internal and external communications. His role is for HCPT to have the income it needs to take large numbers of young people and adults to Lourdes every year, and to appropriately broadcast the opportunities available for people to go on pilgrimage with us.
Himesh Parmar
Accounts Assistant
Himesh joined HCPT in 2023. Having studied physics and mathematical finance, he now works in the Finance team at HCPT.
Natacha Petithory
Head of Admin and HR
Natacha joined the team in 2016. She previously worked as a senior HR officer in the public sector with additional experience in training and events with an international company. She was born in France and moved to the UK in 1999.
Her role includes managing HCPT's volunteer human resources for the Easter and Summer pilgrimages to Lourdes, and delivering a central reception desk facility during the Easter pilgrimage.
Olha Shestakovska
Fundraising Assistant
Olha joined the HCPT team in 2022. She moved to the UK from Ukraine the same year, having worked for 16 years in various roles in the educational sector and for four years in career advice and recruitment.
Olha is in charge of thanking our supporters for their donations, is our key contact for fundraising events such as HCPT's sponsored cycles to Lourdes and the London Marathon, and much more.
Diane Wilkinson
Office Coordinator
Diane has a degree in Human Resource Management. She relocated from South Africa to the UK towards the end of 2022 and started with HCPT in January 2023. Prior to this, she spent 12 years working against human trafficking and modern-day slavery in South Africa. In addition to this, she also qualified as a TEFL teacher in Thailand and then spent the majority of her teaching years in South Korea.
Her role at HCPT is to support the Admin and HR team.
